(a) Start with a suburban town.
In large Japanese cities such as Nagoya, there are many cars and you need to pay attention to driving, including traffic signals, traffic signs, and lane changes. It is recommended that you start from a suburban town and get used to Japanese roads and cars before entering a city.

(b) Car rental in front of Nakatsugawa Station
There is a Toyota Rent-a-Car Nakatsugawa Ekimae Branch at Nakatsugawa Station near Magomejuku, about an hour by train from Nagoya Station. Cars can be returned at stations in other towns or at the airport.

(c) From the suburbs to the countryside
After a short drive from the rental car store through the city of Nakatsugawa, please familiarize yourself with Japanese roads and cars by driving on national, prefectural, and country roads in the suburbs.

(d) Right-hand drive, left-hand lane traffic
On narrow roads, be careful not to contact pedestrians, parked cars, or houses on the left side of the road, or fall into ditches on the shoulder of the road.
